Valentine's Day Blind Date With A Book

So our staff came up with a great idea for a store display this month as, especially since Valentine's Day is coming up.

Look for something new to read?  Why not have a blind date with a book and maybe read something new that you would not normally pick up!

The Longer Run author event!!

Come out and meet Valerie and hear her read from her book "The Longer Run"

Valerie has been a writer for as long as she can remember, and an avid reader for even longer. After reading "The Diary of Anne Frank" at the age of twelve, she started keeping a journal, which she still does, though more sporadically nowadays. She has been a teacher of high-school English and a magazine editor, and has gone through careers in PR and publicity, including ten seasons in the Press Office of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, and a year with the National Film Board of Canada. She returned to teaching fourteen years ago – but teaching yoga this time. She recently graduated as a Holistic Nutritionist, and is now combining her passions for writing, teaching, yoga and nutrition.

Writing The Longer Run: A Daughter’s Story of Arthur Wint was a labour of love, which took many more years than it should have. It was written also out of a sense of duty, to make sure that her father's name and his accomplishments would not be forgotten.

Valerie currently resides in Toronto, Canada with her family.
